A long time ago, I thought it would be really cool to have a website of my own. This is actually version 3, since my alma mater reneged on the free web hosting for life perk, and Google updated their web hosting platform. After a few years offline, it's back, and with more snapshots of the path I've taken. Ten year old me would be so proud. My backstory in brief:
Grew up being told by everyone that I should be an engineer.
Got degrees in naval architecture and marine engineering, with minors in math and music.
Thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail.
Stepped away from the engineering world to explore work in support of providing others access to public lands and recreation.
Built trails, structures, and relationships in the mountains with teenagers, recent college grads, and adult volunteers.
Learned to love snow and ice. Learned to love rocks and climbing.
Settled down in Western North Carolina with my wife and our elderly cat and dog.
Reintegrated tech-based problem solving with public land management through GIS, data management, and information management.
